NEWSLETTER NO. 94
from Barbara in Sierra Leone
January 2008
Hello!
Hello! How are you?
Kushe! Kushe! Aw de bodi?
Buwa! Buwa! Kahunyena?
My heartiest greetings to
each and every one of you in this new year which I pray will bring you
peace, happiness and prosperity.
It was a very happy day on
the 19th as I celebrated my 16th anniversary of
coming to Sierra Leone! And I’m still enjoying it and getting so much
reward from what I’m doing.
All the pupils came back
to school having had a good holiday and raring to get back to their
lessons. As schools didn’t start until the third week there were no
activities, so it was a very quiet month. However, we (administration
and staff) were busy doing cleaning, repairs and maintenance. We also
utilized some of the space within the school building – we divided the
Braillists’ office and made a Bursar’s office; then we partitioned off a
corner of one of the corridors and made a new office for the Integration
Teacher. We also made plans for other projects which I shall talk about
in future newsletters as they come to fruition.
I went to a special
service at St. George’s Cathedral at which Bishop Lynch inducted ten new
Lay Canons. It was a lovely service and it was good to chat with him
after the service.
And that is all the news I
have for the present – this must be one of my shortest newsletters! So
I will close for now except to wish, on behalf of all of us here at the
School, each and every one of you a peaceful, happy, healthy and
prosperous 2008 and as always, I send best wishes to those celebrating
birthdays, anniversaries, and any other happy event. I also send
goodwill messages and solicitations/condolences to those who are not
well or have a bereavement or have received any sad news.
From all the children and
staff here at the School and myself, I send all our love and prayers to
you and your families and friends.
Take care and may God
richly bless you all.
All my love.
Barbara.
